Jackson Pollock Releases Digital Art Collection

Jackson Pollock artworks turns into NFT

A new collection of limited-edition prints and digital artefacts from artist Jackson Pollock has been released on the blockchain through a collaboration between Iconic and The Jackson Pollock Studio. The collection, named “Beyond the Edge,” features Pollock’s iconic style and marks that went beyond his canvas in the 1940s and 50s. The artwork will be offered as a non-fungible token (NFT) collection in partnership with Web3 art collective Iconic Moments, and it features elements from Pollock’s famous paintings, including “Number 3,” “Blue Poles,” and “Convergence.”

The project aims to showcase Pollock’s story in a new and innovative way, expanding knowledge of the artist’s pioneering process and drawing attention to the importance of art artefacts. The collection will also raise funds for the preservation of the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center in East Hampton, NY.

As NFTs continue to gain popularity in the traditional art world, traditional fine artists like Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons have begun to embrace Web3 as a way to grow the reach of their work and connect with collectors. In July 2021, Hirst released “The Currency,” a collection of NFT spot paintings, while Koons released a collection inspired by crypto’s “to the moon” meme in March 2022, with plans to send an NFT to the moon.
